The project is plan to start on july 1st 2005 and end on august 31st 2005.
Have to check about tourism visa possible delivery for more than 2 months.
For now the trip will be organize as 150 km riding days, this way we could rest or visit 1 day for 3 riding days.
the first visit will be shilin(石林) the stone forest at about 100 km east from kunming(昆明), propably use a bus or a train to go there.
once visited the next step is back to kunming(昆明) then maybe possibly go to visit dali(大理) then go north to chengdu(成都).
Kunming(昆明) will be our equipement base and the begin of our riding to beijing(北京).
you should be able to get a 3 months visa (takes one week to get it, in paris at least) from chinese ambassy: that's what i got 'cause my chinese hosting university didn't send me an invitation letter and i had to apply for tourism visa.
Shilin is very easy to go to, don't worry about it(went by train but came back by bus, cause apparently no train on the way back)
then, i didn't get what was the plan : begin the bike trip in direction of dali?
i've heard Lijiang is a must-see (north of dali)
